CLASS TIMES Please refer to your schedule for class times. We highly recommend you attend class at a rate of two to three times per week. We also recommend you attend class on consistent days and times each week to make your attendance part of your weekly schedule. If for some reason you are not able to attend class, we ask you call the school and inform us. The class time the student attends will change as he or she progresses to Black Belt.
BEING ON TIME Being on time to class is very important and demonstrates the characteristic of responsibility. On the occasion that you arrive to class late, please observe the following procedures. 1. Make sure your uniform is neat and belt tied. 2. Remove your shoes and kneel down in the doorway. 3. Wait patiently for the instructor to invite you into the dojang. 4. Answer, “Yes Sir” or “Yes Mam” and bow in and move quickly to your place.

PARENTS DROPPING OFF THEIR CHILDREN Parents dropping off children should do so five to ten minutes prior to the class and pick them up within ten minutes of class ending. The school becomes very busy around class times. We will not be responsible for watching unattended children.
VIEWING CLASSES Parents are encouraged to watch classes. We only ask that you respect the class by remaining quiet and that if you are bringing younger children with you, please keep them quiet and under control.
DRESS Student's uniforms consist of a white traditional Taekwondo uniform with a belt. The uniform should always be neat and the belt should be tied. Students who are members of the BLACK BELT CLUB may wear a blue uniform.
THE BELTS Students in Taekwondo show their progress in the art by the color of the belt they wear. Each color belt is a step toward the goal of Black Belt. The progression towards BLACK BELT goes as follows -- white, white-yellow stripe, yellow, yellow-orange stripe, orange, orange-green, green, green-purple stripe, purple, purple-blue stripe, blue, blue-brown stripe, brown, brown-red stripe, red, red-black stripe, nominal, then Black Belt.
TESTING Testing for belts are done approximately every 8 to 10 weeks, usually on Wednesday and Thursday night. Please watch announcements and the newsletter for the exact date. Ranks are evaluated based upon attendance, general knowledge, basic techniques (i.e. blocking, striking, kicking), forms, breaking technique, sparring, one steps, spirit, attitude, and etiquette. Students take a form of a physical test, verbal questioning, and sometimes written exams. Most green belts and above will not test every testing cycle and it is not anticipated for them to. Approximately two weeks before testing, students who are testing will receive paper work that indicates the time and date of their test. The testing paper requires the signature of a parent and teacher and must be returned prior to the day of the test. Testing times are not usually subject to change. Green belts and above must have a minimum of 30 attendances between each testing date. Any questions on the testing of our students, please, communicate them to the Instructor. It is not our policy to schedule make-up tests. If you miss a testing cycle you will be eligible for the next scheduled testing cycle.
| PAYMENTS Students who budget their programs will receive a payment book from D&S. If for some reason you do not receive a payment book within your first three weeks please see the front desk.
